ELEANOR WARBURTON secured a gold medal for Kazoku-Kan Judo Club at the Kent International competition.
Coming up against tough competition which included two larger opponents, Warburton put up an incredible offence which resulted in her soundly beating her rivals to claim the coveted first place for the Droitwich-based club.
Molly Charlwood did very well in only her second international tournament, giving a fantastic performance and squaring off against girls in a higher weight category than her own.
She showed no signs of nerves to walk away with the silver medal.
Last up in the junior category was Harry Evans who put up a great effort against his pool of competitors but was unlucky not to claim a medal.
Evans has since been awarded the club’s ‘Member of the Month’ trophy for all his hard work and determination,
Elsewhere, head instructor Rob Alloway competed in the senior category where he picked up a silver medal.
Instructor Rich Morrish, who was acting as mat-side coach, said: “Coming to coach these guys on their first international competition was a privilege and an honour.
“Seeing them put into practice what they learn from the club each week makes us incredibly proud.”
